Mark Katlic, MD

Dr. Katlic is the Chief of the Department of Surgery at Sinai Hospital. He is a board-certified surgeon who specializes in thoracic and general surgery and has special interests in thoracic oncology, minimally invasive thoracic surgery, and geriatric surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a member of the American Cancer Society, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Geriatrics Society, Society of Surgical Chairs, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Katlic has been elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha national honorary societies and has edited 7 textbooks on Geriatric Surgery. The Daily Record has acknowledged Dr. Katlic's contributions to the community a number of times over the years, including Maryland Innovator of the Year (2013), Maryland Physician of the Year (2019), and the prestigious Maryland Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
