Mfoniso D. Umoren, MD

Dr. Mfoniso Daniel Umoren obtained his medical degree in St Lucia. He completed his internal medicine residency at Medstar Baltimore Internal Medicine Program and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, followed by an advanced interventional endoscopy fellowship at the same institution.

Dr. Umoren’s professional interest are therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), advanced polypectomy, management of pancreaticobiliary disorders, management of complications of liver disease, early detection and endoscopic mucosal resection of gastrointestinal neoplasia, luminal stenting and dilation, and treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding. He also has an interest in global health and health disparity.
