Gaurav Kumar, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a board-certified pediatrician with over 20 years of experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship and residency in pediatrics. Dr. Kumar provides comprehensive care to children, adolescents and young adults at his Timonium practice. His special areas of interest include asthma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obesity. Prior to joining LifeBridge Health, Dr. Kumar started a pediatric practice in Perry Hall, Maryland, and was an attending physician at Franklin Square Medical Center. During that time, he concurrently served as an assistant professor of medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Kumar's prior professional experiences include providing health care at Northern Navajo Medical Center, in Shiprock, New Mexico, while also coordinating a research study for Johns Hopkins University's medicine and public health schools. Following that, he provided comprehensive pediatric care in the office and inpatient settings at Lovelace Health Systems in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and held a teaching appointment at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Kumar is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is active in the Maryland chapter of the organization.
