About Hooman Bakhshi
Professional Statement
Dr. Hooman Bakhshi is a board-certified interventional and general cardiologist who specializes in minimally invasive, non-surgical treatments for a wide range of heart conditions. He is highly trained in advanced transcatheter procedures, including treatments for aortic and mitral valve disease, coronary artery interventions, and left atrial appendage closure for patients with atrial fibrillation when appropriate. His focus is always on using the latest technology and techniques to deliver the best possible outcomes for his patients.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bakhshi is actively involved in cardiovascular research. He serves as the director of the QFR lab at Johns Hopkins Hospital for the CORE-PRECISION study—an international, multicenter trial evaluating whether ultra-high-resolution cardiac CT can match the accuracy of invasive coronary angiography in detecting significant coronary artery disease. His research also explores how novel biomarkers, including proteomics, can help identify patients at risk for heart disease. You can find his full list of publications on Google Scholar.
Dr. Bakhshi is a fellow and council member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), where he actively participates in efforts to improve patient care and advance the field of interventional cardiology.
Dr. Bakhshi believes in treating every patient as if they were a member of his own family. He values shared decision-making, working closely with patients, their loved ones, and the care team to develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling and exploring the world with his wife—who is also a physician—and their two children.

Dr was kind, patient, made sure we were aware of all options, checked labs and adjusted medication, and told us what to expect for scheduling Walkman procedure. Staff was kind going above to print out radiology request. Wonderful experience. Would recommend highly

I'm transitioning from another cardiologist who recently retired and whom I liked very much. This practice staff and doctor made it easy to do so. Everyone was respectful a professional. The doctor had clearly reviewed my records and was ready to hit the ground running. They also went above and beyond to schedule me at the most convenient location. Kudos!

Dr. Bakhshi wasted no time, checked me out, asked about my history, and got straight to the point. Great experience, and I totally understand why there's a wait for appointments. I left feeling like everything was going to be okay!

Dr. Bakhshi was very concerned and upset that I was not given the proper medicine and dosage for my cholesterol level being extremely high, 300, and immediately ordered better medicine and a much better dosage. He also ordered more tests for me. Dr. Bakhshi saw me and treated me like a human being unlike the other doctors that I have ever had. He's a REAL DOCTOR. He loves his profession, people and he's not in it for the money. I have total faith in him and I thank God for him. He is truly a blessing to me.

Provider is new so things are somewhat disjointed. Receptionist seemed over whelmed or didn't want to be there, not a good look
