Dr. Joseph Bennett completed his complex surgical oncology fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center after finishing his general surgery residency at the University of Chicago. He has more than 20 years of experience specializing in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cysts, primary and metastatic liver cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and skin and soft tissue cancers, including melanoma and sarcoma.

He has performed hundreds of complex surgeries, such as the Whipple procedure to treat pancreatic cancer, and also conducts minimally invasive and robotic cancer surgeries to reduce postoperative pain and facilitate early recovery after complex abdominal operations.

Dr. Bennett is the system chief of surgery for LifeBridge Health and was previously the chief of surgical oncology at a large cancer center before arriving in Baltimore. In addition to his robust clinical practice, he conducts clinical research and has published extensively on surgical oncology outcomes. He also teaches surgery residents and has developed numerous performance improvement projects and quality and safety initiatives to enhance the care of surgical patients.

    This was my first appointment with Dr. Bennett. He was understanding & caring, but I have to see him again to really determine referrals to family & friends. The first visit was very good.
