The sonographer left to take a call in the middle of my anatomy scan for 10/12 minutes. We were left waiting to see a doctor for a long time and then were put in a resource room to wait. The doctor seemed a little confused. I read his note later in the day saying that it's possible that I have velamentous cord insertion which he never told me. We were not given any ultrasound pictures.

I appreciate the care and attentiveness that my son is receiving, it's a refresher from other places.

I did not feel that we were met with much compassion or bedside manner. More or less lumped into a category of "most people do this and this is the expectation"

The doctor is great. Very knowledgeable and takes time to explain things.

The nurses who took blood were extremely unprofessional. One was training and the other was trying to teach her, but they were tripping over each other. Neither understood why more labels printed than tubes needed, and they could not understand which type of tubes and how many needed to be taken. The nurse in training was the one to take my blood and she took a very long time to put the needle in even though she said she found the vein relatively quickly. She seemed incompetent and not confident which did not inspire confidence in me as the patient allowing her to stick a needle into my vein. She also tied the band very tightly (more than I am familiar with even though I have had blood drawn often in the last few months) and did not respond when I told her that my arm was starting to feel numb. Only at the end did they tell me that one nurse was training into the unit and was learning to use the software and procedures although she has experience taking blood. Altogether I felt that neither nurse knew what they were doing, and in the end the lab notified me that the wrong tubes were used and they could not run the necessary tests. I refused to return and found an alternate way of getting my tests completed.
